Best Seats On The Plane Are In Coach!
The “Secret Seats” are the best seats on the plane, even better than first class in some cases, and they aren’t the seats at the emergency exit, or aisle seats, or even the bulkhead. But they are available to anyone flying coach on a domestic flight. Some of the secret seats are identified below:
- On a Boeing 747, the secret seats are 67K and 68K.

- On an American Airlines 767, the secret seats are 17H and 17J.
- On an American Airlines 757, ask for seats 10F or 10A.
- On JetBlue, ask for their Even More Legroom® seats (from $10 extra charge per flight leg)
In each case these seats are two across instead of three, giving you better leg room and aisle accessibility.
The next time you book your flight, simply ask your airline if they have any “secret seats” (coach 2 across instead of 3 across seats) available. Then let us know if you’ve found any additional “secret seats” to the ones listed above!

The Best Time to Book Your Flights
The best time to book your flights is early Wednesday morning, just after midnight. Why? That’s because if there is a chance you can get a cheaper airfare, that’s the time it most likely happens.
It all has to do with fare wars. Smaller airlines tend to start the wars on Fridays. But the big airlines tend to raise their rates late Friday nights. If only one or two big airlines raise their rates but their competitors don’t, then fares are dropped back down on Monday. By Tuesday, if an airfare war is to take place, that’s when it happens. Fares could go down even further on Wednesday, and that’s when you make your reservation, because the fare wars usually end by early Thursday morning.
The best time to book is at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday. That’s because at around midnight the airlines usually reload their computers with the lowest announced fares from the previous day. However, these low cost fares will be canceled if not purchased within 24 hours, so to be sure you get the flight you want, book early Wednesday morning.
This is one of those times it actually pays to be a night owl.
